About me

Building on a Legacy: From Brazilian Motion Design to AAA Game Animation

My story in animation begins long before my first professional credit. It begins with my grandfather, who founded one of Brazil's first animation studios, and my father, who carried that torch forward. I am a third-generation animator, and while our tools have evolved, the core mission has not: to create movement that captivates and tells a story.
I learned this firsthand at Oca Animation, my father's studio. This wasn't a traditional ink-and-paper shop; it was a dynamic hub of 3D animation and motion graphics for broadcast. I started as an intern, learning the ropes of production, client needs, and tight deadlines. Rising to become a Lead Animator there was my first great professional pride, a testament to the skills honed under the guidance of my first and most important mentor.
But I craved a new challenge, a chance to test my mettle on a global stage. I took a leap of faith and moved to Sweden, a decision that led me to an unexpected but formative chapter at NetEnt. There, I was tasked with a fascinating creative puzzle: crafting high-impact, engaging animations for browser-based casino games. The technical constraints were severe, forcing me to become a master of optimization and creative problem-solving. There I learned that limitations aren't barriers; they are the birthplace of true innovation.
That skill proved invaluable for my next leap: joining Avalanche Studios and the world of AAA games. I poured everything I had learned—the narrative flair from Oca, the technical efficiency from NetEnt, and the legacy of my family—into animating the realistic wildlife of theHunter: Call of the Wild and now, crafting the core player movement for the upcoming Contraband.
Today, I stand at a unique crossroads: a guardian of a rich, entrepreneurial heritage and an innovator in a cutting-edge digital world. The animator who started on motion graphics in Brazil now seamlessly blends mocap and keyframe animation, but the goal remains unchanged: to create movement that matters, that feels real, and that tells a story.
This website is more than a portfolio; it’s the next chapter of that legacy. It’s the proof that the lessons learned in a studio in Brazil can resonate through the worlds of AAA games.
Thank you for being a part of the story.

Gotta say that most of my understanding of the animation principles came through Kung Fu, so most of my studies are based on forms that i already know and have practiced a lot of times. Animating those movements have been a great way of keeping them fresh in my mind since i came to Sweden.
